Jesus constituted the group of the twelve apostles "that they might be with him and that he might send them out to preach the good news, with the power to cast out demons" (Mk 3:14-15).
Staying with Jesus means being united to Him, committing ourselves to Him, and to His life project for everyone.
To preach is to announce the good news of Jesus: He came to bring full life to all people. At the Pastoral care for children, we announce the good news by helping pregnant women and their families realize their dignity as children of God. As we create conditions for children to develop, they receive conditions worthy of a full life and carry out Jesus' project.
In the Bible, the expression cast out devils means to free people from all alienation, that is, to help them think for themselves. In pastoral care for children, we help families to think and act increasingly for themselves and to realize that they can renew their community.
