The Walk with Jesus

At the beginning of our training, we reflected on the reality of our country and saw that not everything is according to God's plan.

Together, we studied the proposal of the Pastoral Care for Children to face the challenge of saving lives and contributing to the creation of an environment favorable to the development of all children, especially those from the poorest families.

Each of the participants in this training is already part of the large family of pastoral care for children.

How did this happen?

A person becomes part of the Pastoral Care for Children family when they put their faith into practice and meet the children and pregnant women in their community. It is as Saint James said: "My brethren, what good is it for someone to say that he has faith when he does not put it into practice? You can see, then, that a man is justified based on what he does and not simply by faith" (James 2:14, 24).

At the beginning of the training, we went to meet the pregnant women. With them, we learned and shared what we saw in our meetings. And so, we continue our empowerment by following Jesus, knowing that faith is a movement to serve. Faith is life.

But it is not good for the leader to work alone, after all, Jesus "called the Twelve and began to send them out two by two" (Mk 6:7).

"Two by two" indicates that the mission is a community service and that the followers of Jesus should help one another in their activities. In pastoral care for children, each leader must seek a support person in the community to help him fulfill his mission with the families.
