Jesus placed himself on the side of the little ones, the excluded, and always defended them. He welcomed and blessed the children, touched them, hugged them, and asked: "Let the children come to me. Do not prevent them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such people" (Mk 10:13-16). He recognized that the little ones are open to welcoming others and always learning more, and that is why the Kingdom of God belongs to them.
In conversations with parents and family members, it should be reinforced that young children learn, mainly by example, the values that will guide their choices in life: knowing what is right and wrong as their parents taught, making fair decisions in relation to their neighbors, and being able to make choices and take responsibility for what they choose.
When the child is treated with love and respect and sees good examples at home and in the community, he develops attitudes and values that are important for a true coexistence with other people, such as forgiveness, solidarity, kindness, respect, and honesty.
To help families educate their children for peace, in addition to the Leader's Guide, the Pastoral Care for Children leaders have a material called "10 Commandments for Peace in the Family". This material is available in the topic of the same name, in the basic content of this stage, and brings important reflections on how parents, family members, and people in the community can act to create an environment of love and peace around them. Leader, this handout should be handed out and read with each family you follow up with.
Fathers do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. Eph 6.4
