Now that the child already has several teeth, it is necessary to clean all of them well. Then, they should use a small, soft toothbrush and age-appropriate toothpaste with fluoride. The amount of toothpaste depends on whether the baby already knows how to spit. See the example:
Instruct parents to:
- Brush with circular movements, the outside of the teeth that are next to the cheek.
- Then brush the inside of the teeth, which are next to the tongue.
- Brush the flat part of the teeth back and forth.
- Also, clean the gums and tongue with a toothbrush.
It is important to brush your child's teeth after every meal and before bed. This prevents the formation of plaque, which forms cavities.
The health of the mouth depends on a healthy diet and good tooth hygiene.
The appearance of a white spot on the tooth is the first sign of attention. This stain means they have a cavity, but they still do not have a hole in their tooth. The child must be referred to the dentist.
The child still does not control the muscles that hold the pee and poop. When they warn or someone notices that the child wants to poop, you can place them on the potty and see if they do it. Never force the child, because they are still very young and, little by little, they will understand that they have their own place to poop and pee.
It is necessary to teach the child every day to wash their hands before meals and after using the bathroom, as should everyone in the family.
Using latrines or toilets prevents worms in the feces from contaminating people and causing illness. To prevent the appearance of rats, cockroaches, and flies, which bring diseases, you should keep the garbage inside closed plastic bags and not throw it on the street or in vacant lots. Hygiene care, inside and outside the home, is important for the health of the entire community.
