How the baby can learn and develop

Leaders should guide families to talk a lot to the baby. It is important that people talk to him about everyday things so that, in time, he starts using speech as the main instrument to say what he wants and how he feels. Telling stories, talking poetry, and making plays will help the baby's communication a lot.

The baby really likes to play with his siblings and other children, but he still doesn't know how to borrow or share toys. But when people play together, he learns to live with other people and share his toys. By offering safe objects for them to play with, they learn through experiences such as throwing, catching, squeezing, hitting, etc. Sometimes it will require patience to give the baby back what he throws. This is the opportunity to understand that objects disappear and reappear, as well as the discovery that there are different sounds.

 Toxic stress

Leader, it is good to talk to families and instruct them about care regarding toxic stress in childhood. This kind of stress can cause irreversible damage to the baby's development. Research has shown us more and more about the impacts that toxic stress (caused by situations of neglect, violence, and abuse) has on the baby's brain development, which, when it happens constantly and repeatedly for long periods without a loving adult, can cause serious physical and psychological damage to adult life.

The best way to care for and protect a baby or toddler is with the warmth of a hug. The lap, conversations, and affection make the baby safer and much loved.

Domestic Accidents - The family needs to keep buttons, nails, pins, and seeds in a safe place because, from that age on, the baby can pick up small things and put them into their mouth, nose, and ears. A baby with a bad smell or discharge from the nose or ear may have put something in them. You must take the baby to the hospital because trying to take it home makes the situation even worse.

At this stage, the baby does not sit still, as he is learning to crawl, stand up, and move on his own. So, you need a safe space that allows him to try to move around in different ways. For the baby to move around safely, it is good for parents to prepare a space in the house.

The participation of a person during the plays and discoveries is fundamental. Offer support, such as a table or chairs, for them to try to grab and stand. This way, you will train their balance and strength, and most of the time, through attempts, they will be able to fall and get up. Provide safe spaces for the baby to move, play, and learn.

For the baby to learn how to walk, it is also important to count on the help of others. He likes it when his parents and siblings help and encourage him to walk, as he appreciates their attention. At first, he will need the help of others to walk and move around, then he will walk alone.
